Changing a flat tire may seem daunting, but with the right knowledge and tools, it can be done efficiently.

The process:

  • Loosening the lug nuts:

We use a lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts on the flat tire. 1st we lift the vehicle slightly placing the jack at the designated lifting

points to remove the weight of the vehicle from the axle, then we lift the vehicle ensuring stability and preventing the tire from

spinning while we remove the lug nuts.

  • Lifting the vehicle safely with a jack:

After placing the jack at the designated lifting points, we pump the jack handle until the vehicle is lifted off the ground 2-

             4 inches.

  • Removing the flat tire and replacing it with the spare tire:

Once the vehicle is lifted 2-4 inches, we completely remove the lug nuts and carefully remove the flat tire. Sometimes the tire is

stuck due to driving while flat, or corrosion - we have a 4# mallet that assists with loosening the tire from the axle

without damage. We then place the spare tire onto the lug bolts and hand-tighten the lug nuts ensuring correct rotation to avoid

stripping the lug nut. We  lower the vehicle back to the ground using the jack, then we use a torque wrench to tighten the lug

nuts to specification and service is complete!

Emergency Lug Nut Removal

That one lug nut/lock will not budge!

1st things 1st, we must match your lug nut/lock to a tool, then:

  • The hammer: 1st we hammer the tool onto the end of the lug nut/lock. Only the correct tool will remove the lug nut/lock and after this process the lug nut/lock will no longer be useable.
  • The drill: We use a 700 to 1300 pound torque wrench, which will dig into the lug nut/lock in the forward position then twist it out in the reverse position.
  • Clean and scrape: Now we scrape the treads with a metal brush to clear all the tracts then clean the surface with break cleaner which air dries in minutes..
  • Replace: We carry a variety of lug nuts in our inventory for just this reason the technician will find the proper replacement and put it on. Service is complete!
